Healthy Habits and Finding Balance

Here are some tips on how to keep your lifestyle sustainable and not get burnt out. You want to be happy, healthy and in balance for the long run. No one is perfect, no one truly has a perfectly balanced work life. Things come up in life that throws everything off balance but, that's the way life. Is. It's important not to be so hard on yourself, self forgiveness is key. When I find I am not being as productive as I would like to be  I remind myself, “success at the speed of balance”. It is not a race. It is about having a happy, healthy, sustainable life and enjoying the process of growing and learning. Go at a pace you can handle. As you are building your dream life, it is important to take care of yourself and give love back to yourself. When you do you you can give your love and energy and create good, meaningful work. Self care can be as simple as getting enough sleep, drinking enough water, exercising or journaling. It varies for everyone but ask yourself, “what are the things I enjoy doing that make me feel at peace?” Start incorporating these things in your daily routine. I encourage everyone to try to implement a “catch up day” once a week or once every two weeks. It is a open day where you take to the time to catch up with everything in life. Having a free day is important to give yourself the time to regroup. In life we get carried away with focusing on our main goals or immediate things that we need to give our attentions to. When we do that we sweep a lot to the side. Having the time set aside to get the back burner tasks done is important. Its okay to fall off of keeping up with new habits you want to implement in your life. But if you fall off its okay, pick yourself up and start again!
